Happy New Year

We go out and celebrate our happy new year and the world burns. I just drove past the office of Cheseapeake Energy here in Oklahoma City and they have trees lining Western Avenue that are all lit up with lights. Very pretty altogether.

Then I come home and read an article about Chevron and the indigenous peoples of Ecuador and find out that Chevron is drilling and poisoning the jungles where these people live. It seems to be a case of profits over people. As simple as that. And as simple as the stealing of Oklahoma from native peoples. That fact that seems to be completely ignored in Oklahoma's centential celebration. Check out the story on Ecuador:
